My trip to Tokyo, Hakone, Nara, Kyoto, and Osaka. I love the beautiful juxtaposition and contrast in the country. Thousand-year-old Shinto shrines with skyscrapers looming in the distance.

I felt a mid-size earthquake while in my hotel in Osaka, reminding me of the country’s location on the Ring of Fire. But this tectonic activity also created the prolific peak of Mt. Fuji (which sadly was covered in clouds when I went) and also heats up the sacred onsen hot springs in the mountains of Hakone. A true delight through and through.
